Breaking News: 35 years old Australian cricketer Marcus Stoinis announced his retirement from ODI

A right-handed batting all-rounder at the age of just 35, Australian cricketer Marcus Stoinis announced his retirement from ODI cricket with immediate effect. He represents the Australian national cricket team in ODI and T20I.

Marcus Stoinis ODI & T20I Career

ODI: Marcus Stoinis made his debut on 11 September 2015, against England at Headingley. He represents the Australian cricket team in 71 ODI matches and made 1495 runs in 64 innings at an average of 26.7 with the best of 146 not out against New Zealand in Auckland in 2017. He took 48 wickets with an economy of 6.0 and an average of 43.12 with a BBM of 3/16.

T20I: He made his debut in T20I format on 31st August against England at Sophia Gardens. He played 74 matches and made 1245 runs in 61 innings with a strike rate of 148.57. His BBM of his career in T20I format is 78.He took 45 wickets with an economy of 8.73 and an average of 24.24 with a BBM of 4/23.

His statement on his ODI retirement

Marcus Stoinis said, “Playing ODI cricket for Australia has been an incredible journey, and I’m grateful for every moment I’ve had in the green and gold. This wasn’t an easy decision, but I believe it’s the right time for me to step away from ODIs and fully focus on the next chapter of my career”.
