In the 43rd over, Mohammed Shami broke the partnership by dismissing Zakir Ali (68). In front of the Indian bowling attack, the condition of Bangladesh was such that they crossed 200 while hanging.
Rishad Hussain (18) was dismissed by Harshit Rana. Tanzeem Hasan Saqib (nought) became Mohammed Shami’s fourth victim. Shami also dismissed Taskin Ahmed (three). On the fourth ball of the 50th over, Harshit Rana dismissed centurion Mohammad Towhid Hridoy to end Bangladesh’s innings at 228. Mohammad Towhid Hridoy scored 100 runs off 118 balls with six fours and two sixes.
For India, Mohammed Shami bagged three wickets while Umesh Yadav and Mohit Sharma got one wicket each. Axar Patel took two wickets.

The duo put on 154 runs for the sixth wicket. Zaker scored 68 runs while Towhid scored 100 runs. Apart from this, none of the batsmen of the team could stay at the crease for long. For India, Ishant Sharma took three wickets, while Umesh Yadav took two wickets.

By this victory, India has reached the semi-final. Their next two group matches are against Pakistan and New Zealand, which will be played on February 23 and March 2, respectively.
