MI vs GT WPL 2025: Harmanpret Kaur won the toss and decided to bowl first against Gujrat Giants Women in the fifth game of WPL season three at the Kotambi Stadium, Vadodara, on 18th February Tuesday.

The defending champions of the 2023 MI-W start were not good, as they were defeated by Delhi Capitals Womens in the second match of WPL 2025, where they were not able to win the match.

Mumbai Indians Women’s (MI-W) captain Harmanpreet Kaur had won the toss against Gujrat Giants Women and decided what all teams want to do. They invited Giants batters to bat first in the fifth game of WPL 2025.
MI-W made two changes in their team: G Kamalini comes in for Jintimani Kalita, and debutant Parunika Sisodia comes in for Saika Ishaque, while GT-W didn’t make any changes in their playing XI as they went for the same team.

GT-W Batting
After losing toss in the MI vs GT WPL match, wicketkeeper batter Beth Mooney and Laura Wolvaardt came to bat, but the GT-W start was very poor as Beth Mooney lost her wicket with a very bad shot. After just two balls, her partner Laura Wolvaardt became Shabnam Ismail’s victim. GT-W made only 28 runs in the powerplay and found their four batters in the pavellian.
After losing back-to-back wickets in the middle overs, GT-W did not convert into a big score as they wanted. Kashvee Gautam and Herleen Deol managed to score a little bit of a run in the middle overs, but when these two batters were out, GT-W completely let down and did not make a comeback again in the inning.
They all-out at the score of just 120 runs, which was a very poor score by GT-W. Herleen Deol was the highest scorer for DC-W, as she managed to score 32 runs in 31 balls with 4 fours, while Hayley Matthews was the key bowler for MI-W. Also, Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr managed to take two wickets each.

MI-W Bowling
After winning the toss in the MI vs GT WPL match, MI-W captain Harmanpreet Kaur invited GT-W to bat first. MI-W bowlers were seen in amazing form last night; they showed an impressive bowling skill in the game. They made GT-W four batters out early in the powerplay. After powerplay, the trio of MI-W, Hayley Matthews, Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr did the good job as they made GT-W women let down.
They stop GT-W at the score of just 120 runs and all out them in 20 overs. Hayley Matthews took three wickets while Sciver-Brunt and Amelia Kerr got two wickets each.
MI-W Batting
While chasing just 120 runs in MI vs GT WPL was not a big score for MI-W. MI-W made a good start in the powerplay; they made 37 runs after losing a wicket of Yastika Bhatia. Sciver-Brunt came as one down, and she completely changed the game with her batting. She made her fifty just 34 balls with 10 fours. After Powerplay MI-W lost some wickets, but it can’t make any troubles for MI-W to win the game from GT-W They carry on their hitting style in middle overs also and easily won the game in just 16.1 overs.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur did not make a big score in this game, as she was LBW by Kashvee Gautam. But at the other end, Sciver-Brunt fought alone with GT bowlers, but she bowled out as she did not read the ball of Priya Mishra. At the end MI won the game easily. Nat Sciver-Brunt was the highest scorer for their team. She scored 57 runs in just 39 balls with 11 fours at a strike rate of 146.15.
