Defending champions RCB-W start their campaign with a win by beating Gujrat Giants by 6 wickets in the opening match of WPL 2025, where they were chasing the target of 202. They made history as the highest run chase ever in WPL history

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB-W) captain Smriti Mandhana has won the toss against Delhi Capitals Women and decided what all teams want to do. They invited the Delhi batters to bat first in the fourth game of WPL 2025.

RCB-W made one change for their second game: Ekta Bisht comes in for Prema Rawat, while DC-W made two changes: Jess Jonassen comes in for Alice Capsey and Marizanne Kapp comes in for Niki Prasad.

Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) Scorecard

DC-W Batting

After losing toss in the RCB vs DC WPL match, captain Meg Lanning and Shafali Verma came to bat, but the DC-W start was not good as Shafali Verma went for a duck in the very second ball of the first over. After that, Lanning and Jemmimah Rodrigues handle the inning in the powerplay. They made 55-1 in the powerplay, but after the powerplay, DC-W lost 2 back-to-back wickets in just two overs.

After losing back-to-back wickets in the middle overs, DC-W did not convert into a big score. Sarah Bryse and Shikha Pandey manage to a little bit run, but when they out, DC-W completely let down. They lost their last five wickets at just 12 runs. They all-out at the score of 141 runs. Jemmimah Rodrigues was the highest scorer for DC-W, while Renuka Thakur Singh and Georgia Wareham picked three wickets each, while Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht took two wickets each.

RCB-W Bowling

After winning the toss in the RCB vs DC WPL match, RCV-W captain Smriti Mandhana invited DC-W for bat. RCB-W bowlers showed an impressive bowling skill in the powerplay. Renuka Thakur Singh gets Shafali Verma’s wicket in his first wicket and second ball of the game. After powerplay, Garth and Wareham get back to back wicket in just two overs. After that, Ekta Bisht joined the party and took two important wickets for their team.

They stop DC-W at the score of 141 runs and all out them in 19.3 overs. Renuka Singh and Georgia Wareham took three wickets each, while Garth and Ekta Bisht divided two wickets each in their wickets accounts.

RCB-W Batting

While chasing a 141 run in RCB vs DC WPL was not a big score for RCB-W, as they were coming out by beating the Gujarat Giants, where they chased down the score of 202 successfully. RCB-W made a terrific start in the powerplay; they made 57 runs without losing any wickets. They carry on their hitting style in middle overs also, but unfortunately Danielle Wyatt-Hodge lost his wicket as she was trying to play in the deep extra cover and was cought by Jemmimah Rodrigues at deep extra cover.

But captain Smriti Mandhana did not stop, and she was hitting the ball in the air as well as in the gap. But Shikha Pandey broke her inning at the score of 81 runs. She came out as the highest scorer for their team. She scored 81 runs in just 47 balls with 10 fours and 3 sixes at a strike rate of 172.34.

At the end, last match winner performer Richa Ghosh came to bat and finished the game in just five balls. She hit 11 runs in just 5 balls with 1 four and 1 six.
